1958 Smith-Corona Clipper (5C)
Up for sale is a nice Smith-Corona Clipper (5C Series) which was made in the USA in 1958. This machine isn't anything too unique, however it is in excellent condition and is fully functional down to the bell. Cosmetically, this typewriter is in near mint shape, with the only main cosmetic flaw being some discoloration exposed from a service/shop sticker on the left side of the ribbon cover. This machine is a very popular '50s model that is still a great machine to use heavily and reliably. The touch is very smooth, and the ergonomics on this machine are pretty sufficient for a typewriter that is now 63 years old. This typewriter is also very easy to use and care for, and uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site. The owner's manual can be downloaded for free here: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/SC1958.pdf
If you're in the market for a classic 1950s machine that is ready to be used heavily and reliably, then this is a great no-frills choice!
