1928 Royal Model P
Up for sale is a really pretty Royal Model P which was made in 1928- Royal's third year of producing this model. This typewriter has a really neat crackled-blue paint finish, which is original from the factory. The paint is in good shape overall, with a few notable scuffs as visible in the photos. This typewriter also have a service sticker on the front left body above the keyboard. The labels on the rear of the machine are surprisingly crisp and all in-tact. The typewriter is fully functional in all aspects, and can definitely still be used heavily and reliably despite its age, although there may be better options if you're looking to write something like a novel- unless you are looking for a machine that was made prior to WWII. Universal ribbons fit this typewriter perfectly, and the owner's manual can be downloaded for free here: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/RoyalP1926.pdf
The carrying case shows some signs of wear consistent with age, and the leather carrying handle is missing. Considering this typewriter is only 7 years away from being 100 years old, everything is in quite impressive condition. The platen and feed rollers are in acceptable condition and should not need to be re-covered anytime in the immediate future. The rubber feet on the base do show some evidence of wear and could probably be replaced as desired.
If you're looking for a beautiful '20s machine in a nice crackled blue color that can still be used frequently and reliably, then this is a nice smooth machine for you.
