1931 Royal Model P
Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful Royal Model P in green which was made in 1931. The original green paint is in good shape overall, with little to no flaws at all. It is truly rare to find a green (or any colored) model P in this good of shape, and so this typewriter is an extremely collectible and valuable machine.
The labels on the rear of the machine are surprisingly crisp and all in-tact. The typewriter is fully functional in all aspects, and can definitely still be used heavily and reliably despite its age, although there may be better options if you're looking to write something like a novel- unless you are strictly looking for a machine that was made prior to WWII. Universal ribbons fit this typewriter perfectly, and the owner's manual can be downloaded for free here: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/RoyalP1926.pdf
The carrying case is in surprisingly good condition, although the leather carrying handle on the left side will become disconnected if you attempt to lift the machine by the handle, so the handle is only left in-tact for looks only. The rubber on this typewriter is in acceptable shape. The feed rollers and platen have not been recently replaced, but are not quite rock hard and should last awhile still before needing any attention. The rubber feet do have some wear, and could be replaced as desired but are still in-tact and somewhat functional for now.
If you're looking for a beautiful early '30s machine with the art-deco style in an eye-catching green that can still be used frequently and reliably, then this is an impressive option.
