1927 Corona Four
Up for sale is a beautiful Corona Four which was manufactured in the USA in 1927. This typewriter is almost in near mint shape both cosmetically and mechanically. For being 94 years old, it's hard to believe that this typewriter was preserved and cared for so well. The glossy black paint shines like a mirror, as if it came out of the factory days ago. The labels do have a little bit of wear, but are still very much legible. There's not a hint of rust anywhere on this typewriter except for a little surface rust on the metal on the carry handle of the case, which is otherwise in great shape. Although I would not recommend using this typewriter heavily, this typewriter is indeed fully functional right down to the bell, and does type very well. This typewriter can still be used to write notes and letters every now and then, and this typewriter is reliable at that, however this is not a machine I would recommend writing a novel on simply because there are better ergonomically capable machines that are a bit more modern. Universal ribbons do not fit this machine- I recommend re-threading the original spools or otherwise ordering a new ribbon specifically made for the Corona Four. If you're looking for a beautiful early classic in nearly mint condition that can still be typed on, then this is an excellent option.
