1949 Smith-Corona Sterling (5A-Series)
Up for sale is a Smith-Corona Sterling (5A Series) which was made in America in the first year of production for the 5A Series: 1949. The 5A series gave the WWII era Sterling a little bit of a facelift from the Streamline-themed predecessors, and is the face of Smith-Corona in the early 1950s. This typewriter is in good shape overall, but does have a little cosmetic wear on the body and case. The typewriter is in perfect fully functional condition right down to the bell. This typewriter is very smooth and reliable to write on, and would be great for heavy use. The typeface is a standard 10-pitch pica, and prints nice and clear. This machine uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site, and the owner's manual can be accessed for free here:
