1964 Smith-Corona Galaxie
Up for sale is a Smith-Corona Galaxie in 'Starmist Blue' which was made in America in 1964. This typewriter is fully functional down to the bell, and is in great shape cosmetically as well. While this typewriter may not be the most attractive (at least in my opinion), it shines as a reliable workhorse that can be used heavily. The color does make it more attractive than say a light gray or tan would, and the condition of this machine's paint leaves little to complain about. The mechanism is very smooth and feels extremely solid, as it is. It's also very easy to use and care for, and uses universal ribbons which are sold on this site.
The only major flaw this machine has is that the handle for the carrying case broke off at some point. Replacement cases for this machine can be relatively easy to find- however, since Smith-Corona used the same case on the vast majority of their 60s-70s full-sized portables.
The owner's manual can be accessed for free here: https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/SCportables1970s.pdf
If you're in the market for a no-frills workhorse that can be used heavily and reliably, then this is pretty much the best option for you.
