1932 Remington Portable Model 4
Up for sale, sold for parts/AS IS- is a rare 1932 Remington Portable Model #4 which was made in the USA in 1932. Only 2,882 of this specific model were manufactured. For context, 300,000 of the preceding model #3 were made. Unfortunately, this typewriter has a strange issue with the shift mechanism that I was not able to repair successfully. The shift motion binds and gets stuck in the upright position, and will not return without some extra effort. This may be due to some slight frame damage towards the rear-right side of the machine. Everything else on this machine is functional- and it's just missing its original base and lid, as well as the forward rubber feet.
If you're up to the task on fixing this machine, it would be an awesome deal. Otherwise, it still makes for a quite nice decoration- and an uncommon one at that.
